Franchising A Fast Path to Success

Recently one of WSI’s franchisees – Walter Meade – was featured in Hispanic Today, a digital magazine highlighting successful Hispanics and their rise in the business world.

In the article “Franchising: A Fast Path to Success?”, Walter – a WSI Internet Franchisee based in Mexicali, Mexico – discusses his path of investing in a WSI digital marketing business opportunity and attributed much of his lucrative success as a franchisee to his previous careers.  Like so many other professionals who take the route of acquiring a franchise, Walter found it was his professional history that allowed him to seamlessly transition into the WSI Internet franchise network.

As usual, it’s great to see WSI Consultants getting some recognition from their local communities. The Lockport Union – Sun & Journal, which serves the residents of Lockport, New York, featured an article showcasing WSI Internet franchisees Larry and Lisa Patrick. Cook left the banking industry for a completely new career, but he has utilized his banking experience in his WSI franchise.

Cook spent 15 years as a community banker in Michigan before leaving his position as regional president. Now, Cook is an Internet marketing consultant, using his industry knowledge to help other banks with their online presence. Since 2007, Cook has built a steady client base, with more than 70 percent in or related to the banking industry.

Corporate Job or Business Owner?

In being with WSI almost 10 years now I have certainly seen a lot of changes not only in our business but also in the markets around the world. Many people we speak with today have been laid off from their job and are looking for the next step, the next challenge in life. Interestingly enough though not everyone is looking to build an empire some franchisees are just looking to replace a salary they once had and have more control over their time.

Layoffs, running out of severance pay and digging into savings to live is stressful. But what if this happened again? Getting older, looking for a job. I see a lot of people that need to replace their income and take charge of their future.

Looking at a business when someone has been in the corporate all of their life can be a scary thing. It can certainly be this but several weeks ago I was speaking with a friend and this one conversation really gave me a new outlook on things. He explained that he went skiing for the first time on his recent vacation and he was terrified because he had never skied. He said looking all around him there were small children skiing everywhere. They didn’t know about ski injuries and all of the stories we hear about someone breaking there leg. They just knew they wanted to have fun.

He told me this gave him a different insight to how he was feeling and he decided to set aside his “False Evidence Appearing Real” and take the plunge. He said he had the best time ever and has already planned his next ski vacation with friends who are avid skiers.

In deciding to own a business, many times people face fear. They use their past experiences from their career, their emotions and stories from other business owners. They don’t gather the facts to discover if business ownership is truly a good option for them or not.

Digital Marketing Success Story: Wall Street Insititute

The Wall Street Institute started its business of providing English lessons in a very small office in Bogota, Colombia. They quickly decided to have an active online presence, aiming to develop a website, a massive email-based campaign and a comprehensive digital marketing strategy.

A WSI Consultant based in Colombia developed the entire online campaign and the site for them.

After only 60 days of digital marketing efforts and activities, the Wall Street Institute received a phone call from a very large oil company which employed almost 20,000 people! Wall Street Institute met with the oil company and they were selected to teach English lessons to their large group of employees. With a client of that size and caliber, Wall Street Institute definitely started their business on the right foot.
